Peaceful Forest is a family-centered traditional Japanese Taiko drumming ensemble led by world-champion percussionist Takumi Kato and his three young sons: Sogen, Ryoma, and Yamato. Originating from the heavily forested Gifu Prefecture in Japan, the group is currently on an epic, multi-year goodwill tour across the United States. Their mission is to complete 1,000 free performances across all 50 states to share traditional Japanese culture, build community connections, and advocate for world peace.
This performance is part of the Decatur WatchFest ‘26 concert series bringing big names as well as local and national artists to the Decatur Square throughout the 34 days of the FIFA World Cup 26™ tournament.
